Jesse Thomas wins Lanzarote Ironman

American Jesse Thomas won this year’s Ironman Lanzarote triathlon with a time of 8 hours, 42 minutes and 33 seconds.

The sporting event, which features swimming, cycling and running respective marathons, is the largest sporting event in the archipelago. This year 1888 athletes took part in the race.

Jan Frodeno from Germany came in second place, with Britain’s David McNamee in third.
