Maximum level Weather Warning

The Canarian government has put the Canary Islands on the maximum alert level from 2PM today due to the imminent adverse weather conditions set to hit the Canaries this weekend. Specifically hurricane style high winds have been predicted. Schools have been closed and the authorities are recommending not to travel unless absolutely necessary. The areas worst to be hit are those of higher areas of Gran Canaria and Tenerife and island wide for La Gomera and El Hierro. They have also requested that items such as garden furniture, sun blinds, plant pots, etc… be secured to avoid being blown away and causing further damage.
