Vehicle sales drop 32.1% during October

Vehicle registrations have dropped by 32.1% in the first fortnight of October 2010 when compared to figures from October 2009. In the first fortnight of this month, 901 units have been sold, compared to 1.327 in October 2009. Nationally, 23.334 vehicles were sold, which is a decrease of 37.7% compared to the same period in 2009. There is growing concern in the automobile market due to this beign the fourth drop in sales this year and the end of the governments ‘Plan2000E’ which has resulted in the loss of 30.000 jobs since 2008.
