New Queen Elizabeth visits the Canary Islands

Cunard’s new Queen Elizabeth cruise ship has set off on its maiden voyage to the Canary Islands. The Italian-built, 92,000-tonne vessel was officially named by the Queen at its home port of Southampton on Monday 11th October 2010. Yesterday (Monday 18th October) it was in the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, today it visits the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife where it will stay until 6PM and then it leaves for La Palma, where it will arrive at 8AM and then leave for Funchal. It has 2.000 tourists on board and a crew of 960 people.
