Claims burning bull horns doesn’t cause “much suffering” – ACT

Animal rights supporters have expressed their surprise after bull handlers staged a protest at the weekend in Javea, saying that bulls who have their horns set on fire “do not suffer much”.

The practice of bous embolats was outlawed last year on animal welfare grounds, however the ACT, or Bull Cultural Foundation, has said that the animals do not suffer when the torches are placed on the bulls horns.
