Wheat fire causes homes evacuation

Workers near an industrial estate and residents in Almargen were warned to keep clear from a wheat fire that broke out yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called just before 5pm with reports of smoke from a farmers field.

One woman was treated for smoke inhalation and shock, and the fire was shortly brought under control, however 60 homes have been evacuated as a precaution.
