World Tourism Organization holds event in Malaga

Leaders of over 250 travel firms and tourism ministers from 50 countries met this week in Malaga’s Palacio de Congresos as part of the World Tourism Organization twice annual meeting.

The event, the first time held in Spain in over 40 years, showcased the local tourism sector, as well as featured presentations on local attractions.

During the conference, delegates discussed security, new technology and also global sustainability. The meeting also established plans for 2017, which the UN has declared as International Year of Sustainable Tourism.
