Water shortage plans announced

A plan has been submitted that is expected to tackle the water shortage issue across the Malaga region.

Water from the reservoir of La Viñuela will now be used only for human consumption, and will not be used for irrigation of crops.

The move comes as authorities try to save on waste water. They will now look at alternative sources for other farmland in the area, so that domestic supplies are not threatened should drought conditions worsen over the summer.
