Ryanair flight to Alicante diverted after medical emergency

A Ryanair flight from Liverpool to Alicante has been diverted following a medical emergency being declared on board.

Flight FR9886 was diverted to Bordeaux airport whilst en-route to the Costa Blanca, where emergency services were called to the aircraft.

The passenger was deplaned, and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

In an unconnected event, Germanwings flight 4U9642 from Dusseldorf to Faro declared an inflight medical emergency, and it too landed in Bordeaux airport.
