Calls for inter-islands air fares to be capped

The Canarian government has called on the Spanish transport authorities to follow the concept used in the Balearics and impose a flat-rate fare for local flights.

The call came after it emerged that the Spanish government is in talks with the EU to enforce a flat-rate of €30 per flight interisland.

Now local government ministers have asked that the Spanish Ministry of Transport investigates introducing the same cap to inter island connections across the archipelago.
