11 arrested for forged money

Policia Nacional have arrested 11 gang members on charges of money forgery, flooding the local market with thousands of euros in fake money.

Those arrested, aged between 15 and 39, had been arrested following an investigation that started in March.

Police were tipped off after a Málaga store was duped by a youngster making a purchase with a fake €10 note.

Police found that the criminal group were not only manufacturing the fake money, but distributing it in towns throughout Málaga province, as well as the Córdoba town of Puente Genil. One of the minors flooded the market with an estimated €4,000 of counterfeit money.
