Spain almost certain to go back to the polls

After months of wrangling, discussions and in-fighting, it now looks certain that Spain is set to go back to the polls in June after all the main parties said that there were no more options left to try to form a government.

King Felipe VI is set to meet the parties next week in a last-ditch attempt to strike a deal, but acting Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said he will tell the king he failed to garner enough support to form a government.

Now parties are blaming each other ahead of the talks, furthering the breakdown of communication between the parties.

The Spanish Parliament has until next week to form a government, otherwise it will be forced to call a second round of general elections.
