Spain and Ireland form agreement for Armada wrecks

Ireland and Spain have announced that they are to cooperate on protecting Spanish Armada wrecks, after the recovery of nine cannons from a ship that sunk in 1588.

The deal comes as restoration work has begun on the cannons which is being undertaken at a university in Ireland.

Now an agreement has been made between the two governments to ensure that wrecks along the Irish coast are protected and preserved as much as possible.
