Santa Cruz Carnival welcomes million visitors

The organisers of the Santa Cruz Carnival have said that the turn-out for this year’s celebrations exceeded one million people.

The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, announced in a press conference that the popular event, which ended on Sunday, had a record number of visitors.

Hotels in Santa Cruz were at 90% occupancy, whilst transport systems reported a significant rise in usage.
