Lanzarote salmonella source discovered

A cheese factory in Lanzarote has been ordered to halt the production and distribution of its products after being identified as the source of an outbreak of salmonella on the island.

14 cases were reported on the island, with 3 of those suffering salmonella poisoning being taken to hospital.

Now health officials have taken swift action once the believed source of the bug was discovered.

Tests are being carried out on its production line to establish how the bacteria entered into the production line.
