Iberia to auction flights to New York

Tomorrow, Thursday 18th July 2013, Iberia will launch a promotion in which it will auction flights to New York. The type of auction to be used is called ‘reversed auction’ in which the ticket prices will start at a price of €600 and will decrease by €5 each second until someone buys the ticket.

This is the first time that an airline has decided to sell seats like this, in which there is an opportunity to get a bargain flight to the USA and join in with the fun of the auction.

The starting price will be €600 euros, which will reduce by €5 every second until a customer decides to buy the ticket, at which point another ticket goes on sale for another seat, and so on until all 232 spaces are sold.

The flight for the auctioned tickets leaves Madrid on September 20th 2013 and returns from New York on the 25th September 2013.

The sale of tickets will take place tomorrow, Thursday, July 18th, from 20:00 to 23:59 (Mainland Spain time) fromthis website. or by clicking on the Iberia banner below.

Customers must have Facebook profile page to participate and can choose to buy one or two seats at a time.
