Fire in commercial centre in Playa del Ingles – Gran Canaria

In a second fire to affect a commerical centre in Gran Canaria, a fire is still not under control (as of 7.30AM this morning, Friday 14th June 2013) at Centro Commerical Metro in Playa del Ingles in the south of Gran Canaria. The fire has so far been reported to have destroyed the nightclub ‘Kopas’ where the fire has said to have started.

The fire is reported to have started at 6AM this morning and was not under control as of 7.30AM.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage. Firefighters, ambulances and local police are at the scene.
