Canary Islands cut FITUR advertising budget
The Canary Islands government will invest a total of €680,000 in this years International tourism fair FITUR which is to be held in Madrid from Wednesday 30th January 2013 and runs until February 3rd 2013. This amount represents a 13% cut in last years event (€100,000 less). At FITUR, all Spanish communities will participate in what labelled as one of the most important tourism fairs in Europe, but the majority of communities will do so with a much tighter.
At a cost of €680,000 the Canary Islands will rank second place in advertising spend, according to official data provided by the regional governments. The Canaries stand, covering 1,827 square meters, will be inspired by the sea and its aim is to recover mainly domestic tourism. The highest spender at the years event will again be Andalucía, with a budget of €1.06 million.
