3 year old tourist drowns in Gran Canaria complex

A three-year-old boy died this morning (Thursday 1st November 2012) by drowning in a resort pool in Tauro, municipality of Mogán, in the South of Gran Canaria. The boy had arrived yesterday with his parents to enjoy their holidays on the island of Gran Canaria and today would have been their first day at the pool of the complex where they were staying. According to sources, the childs parents, of Norwegian origin, may have lost sight of the boy for just a few seconds. The 112 emergency services received a call at 10:20 this morning to advise that a minor had been located in the complexes pool with symptoms of drowning. Medical personnel arrived at the scene, and after attempting resuscitation were only able to certify his death.
