14 illegal immigrants arrive on Fuerteventura beach with 21 kilos of drugs

The Guardia Civil have intercepted a boat carrying 14 illegal immigrants and 21 kilos of drugs when it arrived on a beach in Fuerteventura over the weekend. The initial call came from a fisherman in the area.

The boat, a wooden ‘patera’ type boat, washed up on the shores of El Cotillo in Fuerteventura with 14 illegal immigrants who were carrying 21 kilos of drugs, according to a press statement released by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Guardia Civil.

Amongst the 14 people arrested was the ‘skipper’ of the boat. Two of the immigrants have also been charged with drug offences.
