Excursion boat catches fire in Gran Canaria injuring 23 people
The ‘Liberty’, a excursion boat used as a tourist attraction in Gran Canaria to spot whales, caught fire at around 13:00 today (Friday, 14th October 2011) and has eventually sank at sea between the beaches of Mogan and Puerto Rico on the south coast of Gran Canaria. The captain and the passengers, who were helped off the boat by other boat crew members, have been transferred to Arguineguin suffering from injuries and anxiety attacks. The nationality of the tourists is currently unknown..
