Tenerife Bluetrail – From sea to sky
This mountain run is organized by the Island Council of Tenerife, through its Environment and Sports departments, with the partnership of the Tourism Board of Tenerife, Sinpromi, the Tenerife Mountain Federation, the Army and other institutions;
as well as the participation of a number of brands that are sponsoring or collaborating in the event.
Tenerife Bluetrail includes four mountain routes, more than 80% of them along Tenerife’s new network of pathways, which are within the Natural Protected Areas of Natura 2000 Network. Each run is made up of a single stage, with no specific speed required, but with a time limit. The details of each race are as follows:
Ultratrail: 95 km in length, 5,687 metres of ascent and 11,014 metres of total
accumulated ascent /descent. It begins in the port of Los Cristianos (Arona) at 00:00 hours on Saturday, 16 April 2011. Runners will have a maximum of 26 hours to reach the finish line, which is located in Villa de La Orotava (at the town
hall square).
Trail: 52 km in length, 2.135 metres of ascent and 6.031 metres of total accumulated ascent / descent. It begins in the Parador de Turismo Cañadas del Teide at 08:00 hours on Saturday, 16 April, 2011. Runners will have a maximum of 12 hours to reach the finish line, which will be located in Villa de La Orotava (in the town hall square).
Mediatrail: 21 km in length, 1.130 metres of ascent and 3,489 metres of total accumulated ascent / descent. It begins in La Caldera recreational area at 12:00 hours on Saturday, 16 April 2011. Runners will have a maximum of 8 hours to reach the finish line, which will be located in Villa de La Orotava (in the town hall square)
Adapted Trail: which runs along the Mamio track, alongside La Caldera de Aguamansa. It is almost completely flat and it covers approximately 4 kilometres.
