Unemployment rise in 2010
Unemployment increased in every autonomous community except Valencia and the Pais Vasco. The national average was 8.55%. 2010 saw an additional 370.100 people unemployed across Spain, where unemployment now affects 20,79% of the population. In the Canary Islands unemployment rose by 7% in 2010. Unemployment levels in the Canaries have now reached 27,62% and now ranks the third highest unemployment figure in Spain, behind AndalucĂa (30,34%) and Extremadura (27,84%).
