Over 140.000 government employees to strike today

Around 140.000 goverment employees are expected to strike today over wage cuts to the public sector workers. Nationally, over 2.500.000 people are extected to strike across the country, according to the unions UGT and CCOO. The goverment has announced wage cuts of 5% to all public sector workers. There are demonstrations due all over the Canary Islands due to commence at 18:30.
