Tourist spend down 7.9% in April

The amount of money tourists spent during the month of April 2010 was down 7.9% when compared to figures for the same motnh the previous year. This decrease is due to the volcanic ash that affected the airspace over europe during the month of April. In the first 4 months, tourism was showing a daily spend increase of 4.6% which is €96 per day per tourist.
