Puerto de la Cruz tourism down 17%

Puerto de La Cruz has seen its tourism figures drop by 17% last year (2009) when compared to figures from 2008. Its occupation level was 52%. Jose Manuel Bermudez (head Cabildo of Tenerife tourism), in what may seem by many as a controvertial statement, has blamed a ‘lack of imagination’ of the hotel and business owners as the cause of the tourism crisis.
