Canaries storms – The aftermath
The Canary Islands population feared another 31st March 2002 (when 6 people were killed in a storm that hit the islands) when the last few days a storm hit the islands causing chaos. This time there have been no injuries but the bad weather has caused serious problems to the islands infrastructure. Cancelled flights, stranded tourists, blocked roads, town evacuations and schools closed across the whole 7 islands. At the time of writing there are over 27.000 homes without electricity.
