Weather causes chaos in Canaries

The weather seems to be causes chaos in the Canaries over the last few days with roads blocked and schools closed. The prediction was poor for over the weekend and as predicted the storm arrived.
Schools are closed today (Monday) in El Hierro and Fuerteventura and at the time of writing the GC1 motorway in Gran Canaria (southbound) is at a standstill due to the bad weather. Yesterday (Sunday) Lanzarote suffered heavy rainfall and the storms are said to intensify today in Gran Canaria.
