Unemployment continues to rise in the Canaries
Unemployment continues to rise in the Canary Islands, this time by an extra 2.865 people during the month of February 2011, bringing the total number of unemployed to 261.171, a 1.11% increase over the previous month of January 2011. When comparing figures from the same month last year (2010), unemployment shows a rise of 3.237 people (+1.25%). Unemployment increased more in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (+1.62%) than in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (+0.67%).
