British tourism rises in Tenerife

British tourism spend increased 5% in Tenerife in 2010, when compared to the previous year of 2009. The total amount spent by tourists in Tenerife €3.414.000.000. By volume, the number of tourists was also up 2.7% in 2010. Occupation levels were reported to average at 56,17% which is an increase of 4.2% while the average vacation period decreased slightly to 7.5 days. Jose Manuel Bermudez (Tourism, Tenerife Council) is claims to remain positive for the year ahead (2011) with regards to British and German tourism.
