Ryanair to cover dropped Canaries air routes

Michael Crawley, vicepresident of the low cost airline Ryanair, has not only offered to cover the routes of any airline that leaves the Canary Islands, but he has said that he will enusre that the replaced flights will have a greater capacity and be cheaper. This comes after the ‘incentives’ offered by the Canarian government to any airline that increases its routes with the Canaries over the next four years. This incentive, along with discounts offered by AENA (Spains airport authority), has been seen by Ryanair as an opportunity to grow the airline. Mr. Crawley estimates the transport around 1.6 million passengers per year and create 1.600 jobs which will lead to the opening of a ‘base’ in Tenerife.
