Search on for hit and run after fatal accident

A hit and run driver is being sought after a 79-year-old woman died last night after being knocked down by a car on the TF-24 La Esperanza road in La Laguna in Tenerife.

The accident happened shortly before 8pm and emergency services say that they were called to the scene of the accident to try to help the 79-year-old woman. It is understood that the woman however died instantly from her injuries.

A search has now been launched to find a grey Volkswagen Golf, which is understood to have been responsible for the accident.
