New speed cameras to roll out nationally

Guardia Civil Trafico have announced that the roll out of a new type of speed camera has begun.

The new cameras will be able to detect if drivers are not just driving too fast, but if they are using a mobile phone or are not wearing a seatbelt.

70 of the new high-tech cameras have been installed nationally, with 200 expected to be in place before the end of the year.

The new generation cameras will start enforcing breaches in traffic laws from the start of next month.
