More power cuts hit Tenerife
People stuck in lifts, traffic lights off, cash machines dead… This was the situation in Tenerife yesterday when another power cut affected 40% of the island. The power cut occurred at 9:15AM yesterday (Wednesday 4th August 2010) when there was an ‘incident’ in Las Caletillas power station which provides electricity to 40% of the island. Unelco-Endesa have not given a reason for the cut and have said that they are investigating the issue. The most affected areas were the capital, Santa Cruz, Icod de Los Vinos, Tacoronte and Guimar. All areas recovered their supply by 12:00PM.
