BAA staff vote for strike action
The six UK airports operated by BAA, Heathrow, Stansted, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen could be seriously affected if their staff go ahead with the strikes that their staff have voted for, according to their union, Unite. The strike is after the announcement of just a 1% wage increase for 2010 and a pay freeze for 2009. BAA has asked Unite to return to the table to avoid disrupting thousands of peoples holidays before the end of the summer season. Up to 300.000 people pass through the six airports in any one day during summer.
