Roads in Tenerife slammed by Government

The Canarian Government has criticised the Cabildo of Tenerife for the standard of roads on the islands, after a string of complaints.

Across the archipelago the standard of roads has been slammed, with the government saying more needs to be done with the 51 million euro budget that is allocated this year for the islands road networks.

Tenerife gets the lions share of the money, with nearly €18m earmarked for nearly a 1000 km of road works. However the current standard of the roads on the island has led for calls for the road network to be brought into state control, rather than local authority operation.
