New ‘Trafico’ laws come into place today

Various new ‘Trafico’ laws come into place today covering items such as payments of fines and using satnav equipment. Some of the laws are as follows:

– Rise from 30% to 50% discount if a traffic fine is paid within 15 – 20 days to include option to pay be credit card.
– More power to revocer the monies owed after 30 days of non payment of fines.
– Fines for using satnav equipment while driving.
– Increase of fines to up to €6.000 for having an anti-radar device installed in your vehicle.
– Power for repair garages to destroy vehicles if not collected within 30 days of repairing.

Other previous laws have been relaxed where points were deducted and now just incur a fine.
