Power cuts ‘likely’ until 2014

More island wide power cuts are expected until three new power generating substations are built, which are not due to be completed until 2014. The sub stations will be built in Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria. In the meantime, the Canarian Government, in meetings wit hthe power supply operators REE, are taking ‘steps’ to try and prevent any more serious island wide power cuts.
