Power cut affects 95% of Lanzarote
A power cut, this time on Lanzarote, left nearly the whole of the island (95%) without electricity for approximately 1 and a half hours today when a fault (currently unknown) in Punta Grande caused all the municipalities sub stations to shut down, except Yaiza, which is powered from an underwater cable from Fuerteventura via Playa Blanca. The last municipality to regain electricity was the capital Arrecife at 11:51AM. Unelco-Endesa have apologised for the power cut.
