Tourist Spending Tumbles On Lanzarote
The weakness of sterling against the euro and the impact of the economic crisis have combined to create a marked decline in the amount of money that tourists are spending on their holidays in Lanzarote. According to new research recently released by ISTAC, the Canarian Institute of Statistics.
The latest ISTAC statistics reveal that visitors to Lanzarote are now spending €3 per head per day less than they were in 2006. With each visitor shelling out an average of €35.95 per day. A figure that has fallen by over €3 from €39.01 in 2006.
The ISTAC research also revealed that tourists visiting Lanzarote spent €6.75 less per day than holidaymakers on other Canary Islands.
