Two German hikers rescued on La Gomera

Guardia Civil from Tenerife, with the support of the Helicopter Service, yesterday located and rescued two German hikers who had gone missing the day before in the Chipude area of Valle Gran Rey on the island of La Gomera. The Guard Civil were alerted when they received a call from the Emergency Coordination Center and Security of the Canary Islands (112) of the fact that two German hikers were lost in the area of Valle Gran Rey. Guardia Civil officers attempted to locate them in the early hours of the morning but were unable to do so, but they were able to speak to them and were given certainty that they were both well and had warm clothes. Yesterday morning, at 8AM, the Guardia Civil helicopter located the two female hikers, aged 58 and 29, in a place known as ‘Alto de Teguerguenche’, both were in good health. They had been staying at a hotel in Valle Gran Rey.
