Lanzarote re-opens beaches to the public

The municipalities of Teguise and Tias in Lanzarote have decided to reopen all the beaches of Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen, most of which were closed over the weekend, after receiving authorisation from the Canarian Government permitting the public use of the affected coastline due to ‘suspected toxic organisms’ detected at the weekend, with the sole exception of a small stretch of beach known as ‘El Ancla’, which still has a small presence of algae. It is expected that other areas of Lanzarote are to follow suit.
