80,749 foreigners work in the Canaries

According to figures made public by the Ministry of Labour and Immigration made public this month (April 2011), the number of foreign affiliates to the Canary Islands Social Security totaled 80,749 in March 2011. Nationally the number of foreigners working in Spain reached 1,777,438. Of all foreigners who were affiliated with Social Security at the end of last month (March 2011), 1,118,030 were from NON-EU countries and 659,409 were from EU countries. Of this national figure, 50,556 are British nationals.
