Man wanted for murder arrested at Alicante Elche Airport

An Irish man wanted on suspicion of murder was arrested last week when he arrived at Alicante airport on a flight from Belfast.

The man, a 32-year-old from Ireland, had a European arrest warrant open for him in relation to a double shooting in 2012.

Upon arrival in Spain, he was arrested by police and sent to Madrid, where he was remanded in custody pending an extradition.
