Plans for renationalisation of health services announced

Health authorities in the region have started the process to re-nationalise the privatised Marina Alta district medical service.

The facility has been run by private firm Marina Salud for the past 7 years, and now, after pressure from patients and staff, plans have been unveiled for it to be brought back into the hands of the regions health authority.

The service, which operates Dénia hospital and the GP surgeries across 33 towns and villages, is expected to return to state hands in the near future.
