Lifeguard contract fails to attract bid

The local government in Orihuela has said that it will have to rethink their plans for lifeguard services, after no tenders were submitted for the contracts for this year or next.

A short-term contract for Easter weekend has been confirmed, however the longer term one has yet to be fulfilled.

The tender was set at just under half a million euros per year. The lack of interest has been justified due to the “demanding specifications” of the contract, according to local politicians.
