Botched fresco becomes tourism hit

A bothched restoration of a painting of Jesus Christ has become a tourist attraction after getting world wide media coverage.

The sleepy town of Borja was thrust into the spotlight after a late 19th Centry fresco was restored badly.

The local art museum has seen visitor numbers soar from around 6,000 to 57,000 a year as tourists from all over Europe, Latin America, Australia, China and Japan have been to see the painting, and have donated over €50,000 to the local church.
