Lanzarote scoops ITI winter sun award

Tourism chiefs in Lanzarote are celebrating after Lanzarote picked up the top Winter Sun Destination award again from Ireland’s Travel Industry Awards for the 13th time in a row

The island’s tourism marketing chief in Britain and Ireland, Paula Muñoz, collected the award in Dublin at the prestigious event.

The island won the ITI accolade despite stiff competition from arguably better-known hot spots such as Florida, Tenerife and Dubai.

Ireland is now Lanzarote’s third most important market, according to latest figures.
