New earthquakes hit El Hierro

There have been a new series of earthquakes to hit the island of El Hierro. The high intensity earthquake was 2.3 and all have occurred at a depth of between 17 and 21 kilometers. While the reportes quakes have been in slightly different areas, they have been concentrated on the north of the island in Frontera.

While the IGN (National Geographic Institute) claimed that the quakes had not been felt by the islands population, activity on social networks would suggest that during the night some residents of the island had felt slight vibrations.

So far today (Friday 14th March 2014) there have been 25 earthquakes reported.
