The alert now also covers Tenerife and the island of La Palma for intense rain and adverse weather conditions.
The island of La Palma has been put on ‘Red alert’ for rain and bad weather from !8:00 today (Tuesday, 10th December 2013) with reports of up to 60 litres of water in just one hour.
The Canary Islands have been suffering from bad weather for a number of days now but the storms are expected to stay for another few days with the alert spreading to the island of Tenerife tomorrow (Wednesday 11th December 2013).

The weather for tomorrow, Wednesday 11th December 2013 is looking bad for the neighbouring island of Tenerife which also has a ‘red alert’ for rain and wind as seen in the official forecast:
Fred.Olsen have cancelled all ferries between the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura and between Tenerife and La Palma due to bad weather.
